Created in the year 1972, the Biological Cloud Forest Monteverde is one of the most famous in the world, as well as one of the most important protected areas in Costa Rica, covering about 3.500 hectares. Chosen as on of the Seven Wonders of Costa Rica in 2007.

the geographicm, topographic and climatic conditions of the Monteverde Reserve have contributed to a most surprising biodiversity one can find.

In its forests, four ¨Life Zones¨ can be found. These zones have different ecosystems, inhabiting hundreds of different species of mammals, birds, buttrflies, amphibians, reptiles, insects and spiders, a diversity of mosses, epiphytes, vines and other plantss and trees typical to the cloud forest.

Hours: Open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Approximate duration: 4 hours.

Pick up time: 7:00am and 1:00pm.
